Ambuscade HMS
5th Rate of 32 guns. Built 1773 deptford for Royal Navy. 684tns. Bm. L126’6”. Captured the French HELENE 1779, was in operation in the Chesapeake 1781 and assisted in the capure of the French HIRONDELLE 1798. Captured by the French 1798 and renamed EMBUSCADE. Recaptured by HMS VICTORY 28 May 1803.
