Built as a cargo vessel under yard No. 359 by A.G. “Weser”, Bremen for the Roland Line in Bremen.
April 1923 launched under the name ANATOLIA.
Tonnage 2.446 grt, 1.421 net, 4.400 dwt., dim. 96.26 x 14.05 x 6.4m.
Powered by a triple expansion 3-cyl. steamengine, built by shipbuiders, 1.450 ihp., speed 10.5 knots.
Derricks of 1 – 20 ton, 8 – 5 tons, 2 – 2 tons and 1 – 1 ton.
Cargo capacity 227.076 cubic feet grain, 200.537 cubic feet bale.
Crew 33.
June 1923 completed.

After delivery used in the service from Germany to the Mediterranean and Levant.
01 January 1926 the Roland Line merged with the Norddeutscher Lloyd, Bremen.
Mid 1930’s was the ANATOLIA transferred to the South Atlantic service.
30 November 1937 she sailed from Cape Town with on board a Norwegian expedition under leadership of Dr. Erlig Christophersen with destination Tristan da Cunha, where she arrived on 07 December 1937.
At this voyage she also carried the mail from Europe to the island; the mail was transported to Cape Town by the DUNVEGEN CASTLE.

08September 1939 was she interned at Montevideo, Uruguay.
Rather than letting her deteriorate in interment, she was sold in April 1940 to Cia Argentino de Nav. Lloyd, Buenos Aires.
1942 Renamed in SANTA FEE.
1943 Sold to Flota Mercanta del Estado, Buenos Aires, and renamed in RIO CARCARANA.
1954 Sold to Conamar Cia. des Nav. Maritime, Buenos Aires, renamed in ANAMAR.
1969 Second quarter scrapped at Brazil.
