The vessel depict on the 215s stamp of the cod fishing on the Grand Banks is the ANA MARIA photo of the vessel on the web-site given below is exact the same as the design on the stamp.

She was built as a wooden 3-masted schooner in 1873 by Dundee Shipbuilding Co., Dundee, Scotland for William Thompson, Dundee.
Launched under the name ARGUS
Tonnage 271 gross, 208 net, 250 dwt., dim. 119.7 x 22.6 x 12.7ft.
Schooner rigged.
March 1873 completed. Official No 68264.

Her maiden voyage she made under command of Capt. R.P.Paton, he was master till 1877. Then Capt G. Scott till 1881, he was relieved for a short period in 1881 by Capt. Purdy before Scott came back on board in 1882.
He was relieved that year by Capt. J. Urquhart till 1883, and then Capt. Nicolson took over till she was sold.

1885 Sold to Bensaude & Co. at Lisbon, not renamed, under command of Capt. Blyth who stayed on board as Master till 1889.
The same year she made her first voyage to the Grand Banks.
She could take around 5.000 quintals of salted cod.
1900 Was she rebuilt, thereafter owned by Parceria Geral de Pescarias, managed by Bensaude & Co.

1936 Sold to Veloso, Pinheiro & Co. Ltd., Oporto and renamed in ANA MARIA.

In 1958 was she the only Grand Banker without an auxiliary engine; she was lost that year on 07 September during a cyclone over the Grand Banks.
Her forty men crew and Capt. Joaquim Agonia Vieira from Vila do Condo were rescued by the American coaster SPENCER (There is not a ship with the name SPENCER at that time), which transferred them to a Spanish vessel.
