Destroyerr transport built Bethlehem Ship Building Corp 1945. Keel laid Nov 1943. Launched 12 Feb 1944. Compl 23 Feb 1945. 1400tn. Gen Electric turbo elec motor 12000shp. 2 screws 23.5knts. Arm one 5in and six 40mm AA guns. Comp 204. Troop cap 162. Built as USS TOLLBERG (APD-1, ex DE-593). Trans to Colombia 14 Aug 1965. Second ship of name, first being the ex USS GROTON which was trans to Colombia Feb 1947.

Correct keel laying was on 30 December 1943. at Hingham.
Pennant No APD-103.

Decommissioned 20 December 1946.
Stricken from USA Navy list on 01 November 1964.
14 August 1965 transfered to the Columbia Navy and renamed ALMIRANTE PADILLA.
1973 Stricken from the Columbian Navy List.
