ANTHIPLOLARHOS LASKOS (P-20)

Built as fast attack missile and torpedo boat by Constructions Mechaniques de Normandie, Cherbourg, France for the Greek Navy.
06 July 1976 launched under the name ANTHIPLOLARHOS LASKOS (P-20). Named after a Greek sea officer. Four of this class was built in France, the other six in Greece.
Displacement 392 standard, 425 full load, dim. 56.15 x 8 x 4.40m, draught 2.40m.
Powered by four MTU 20V-538-TB 91 diesels, each 4.500 hp., coupled to four shafts, speed 35 knots.
Range 2.000 miles by 15 knots.
Armament; 2 –76mm dual purpose cannon, 2 – 30mm Emerlee AA cannon and 2 wire guided torpedoes.
Four Exocet missile launchers.
Crew 42.
20 April 1977 commissioned.

She was one of the Combattante III class of which four were built for the Greek Navy. Her hull in all welded prefabricated steel, Aluminium superstructure.
The ANTHIPLOIARHOS LASKOS was the first vessel of this class in service by the Greek Navy.
2006 Still in service.

(Navicula gives that the ASTRAPI is depict on the stamp, but a photo depict in Naval Fast Attack Craft and Patrol Boats showed clearly that she is not the vessel on the stamp.)
