She was built as a river ferry by J. Morris & Co. (Gosport) Ltd., Fleetlands Shipyard Bridgemary, Fareham, Hants., England for the Government of Gambia.
28 June 1949 launched under the name LADY WRIGHT, named for the wife of Sir Andrew Wright, later Governor of Gambia.
Tonnage 535 gross, 326 net, dim. 155.8 x 30.1 x 11.2ft.
Powered by two Grossley Bross 5-cyl diesels, 33?hp, twin screw, speed 12 knots.
Was fitted out as a floating post and telegraph office.
Accommodation for 37 cabin, 300 deck passengers, crew 33.
1950 Completed.

After arrival in Gambia used on the River Gambia between Bathurst (Banjul)- Basse and Fattoto.
Out of service April 1977.
Sold on 09 July 1979 to E.B. Mbenga, Banjul for demolition.
