Built as a steel hulled passenger vessel under yard No 133 by Trondhjems Mek. Værksted A/S yard at Trondheim, Norway for Throndhjems Lægterkompani (Emil Tønnensen, Trondheim.
19 August 1908 launched under the name ODIN.
Tonnage 158 grt., dim. 108.8 x 18.3 x 9.5ft., length bpp. 100.4 ft.
Powered by one triple expansion steam engine, 45 nhp. (258ihp.), speed 9 knots.
Registered for 166 passengers.
Ice strengthened.
September 1908 in service.

After completion in a regular service in the Thronheimsfjorden.
September 1914 requisitioned by Den Konglige Norske Marine (Norway Navy), for use as a neutrality guard.
November 1918 returned to owner.
1923 Sold to A/S Hjelme & Herlø Dampskibsselskab, Bergen and renamed SKJERGARD.
Thereafter in a regular service between Bergen and Øygarden.
October 1925 sold to Vesteraalsen Dampskibsselskab, Stokmarknes and renamed BØRØYSUND, in service in the Lofoten and Vesterälen.
Remeasured in 1934, tonnage then given as 181gt.
1936 Rebuilt thereafter 190gt. ton.

During World War II in a regular service all through the war. Possible used in connection with the evacuation of Finmark.

At the war ends in May 1945 she was in a bad state of repair, she underwent repair and re-entered the regular service.
Around 1955 laid up at Stokmarknes, and used as reserve vessel.
1961 Sold to Hadsel Yrkesskole, Hadsel, renamed HYMA, and used as training vessel for the school’s engineering department.
1962 Remeasured, tonnage given 181gt.
1969 Sold to Norsk Veteransskipsklubb, Oslo and again renamed in BØRØYSUND.
Restored with the aim of making her look like she did in 1936, the work continuing for many years.
1973 Completed, registered for 100 passengers and used for charter trips in Oslofjord.
1978 Remeasured, tonnage given as 179 gt.
2008 Still in use as a veteran ship.
