KRONPRINS HARALD

Built as passenger car ferry under yard No 1096 by Kieler Howaldtswerke A.G. Kiel, Germany for I/S Jahre Line, Sandefjord, Norway.
17 December 1960 launched under the name KRONPRINS HARALD.
Tonnage 7.034 grt, 3.454 net, 800 dwt., dim. 138.26 x 18.04 x 5.49m. (draught).
Powered by two 9-cyl. MAN diesel engines, 9.540 bhp., twin screws, speed 20 knots.
Accommodation for 577 passengers in two classes, and 150 cars.
02 May 1961 delivered to owners.

May 1961 used in the service between Oslo and Kiel. A distance of around 360 miles. On the stamp she is seen in the Kiel ferry harbour, with in the foreground the marina with yachts.

1974 Sold to Vietnam Ocean Shipping Co., Ho Chi Minh City (Saigon), Vietnam for delivery in 1976.
April 1976 transferred to new owners and renamed in HA LONG.
1979 Transferred to Vietnam Coastal Shipping, Haiphong, Vietnam and renamed THONG NHAT.
1991 Sold to Oriental Glory Maritime Co. Ltd., Valetta, Malta and renamed in PANAGIA.
She was refitted, where after she was put in the service of the Afroessa Line between Piraeus-Crete-Rhodos-Limassol-Haifa.
1994 Chartered by Bodrum Lines but was laid up at Piraeus.
1996 Sold to Global Union Maritime, San Lorenzo, Honduras, and renamed in AL SAFA, for service in the
Red Sea.

1997 Sold to Med Cruise Maritime S.A., Panama, renamed in MEDOUSA, laid up at Limassol, Cyprus.
1997 Moved to the Chalkis shipyard in Piraeus for a refit.
January 2003 arrested by the yard for unpaid bills.
April 2003 during a public auction sold to Turkish shipbreakers.
24 May 2005 under tow arrived at the breakers yard in Aliaga, Turkey.
