KIBI MARU.

At the time of her sinking two Japanese ships carried the name KIBI MARU both were sunk during the air raids on the Palau Islands on 30 March 1944, which is depict on the stamp is not sure.

Built as cargo vessel in 1941 by Nippon Kokan Tsurumi Shipyard at Tsurumi for Tochigi Kisen KK. Tokyo.
Launched under the name KIBI MARU.
Tonnage 2.759 gross, 4.266 dwt, dim. 94.0 x 13.7m.
Powered by steam turbines ?hp, speed 11 knots.
June 1941 completed.

Taken over by the Japanese Army and used as transport.
30 March 1944 during the American air raid on Palau.

The other cargo vessel was built by Tochigi shipyard, Wakamatsu for Tochigi Kissen K.K., Kobe.
Launched under the name KIBI MARU.
Tonnage 2.961 grt, 4.476 dwt, dim. 93.8 x 13.7m.
One steam turbine ?hp, speed?
February 1943 completed.

Taken over by the Japanese Army and used as transport.
30 March 1944 also sunk during the American air raid on Palau in position 07 19N 134 28E.
