RAIZAN MARU.

Also a type C1 standard cargo vessel, built by Naniwa, Osaka for Tsurumaru Kisen K.K., Wakamatsu.
Launched under the name RAIZAN MARU.
Tonnage 2.813 gross, 4.476 dwt., dim. 93.8 x 13.7m.
One triple expansion steam engine ?hp., speed 11 knots.
December 1942 completed and taken over by the Japanese Army.

15 March 1944 sailed from Balikpapan in convoy for Palau.
30 March 1944 during an American air attack bombed by navy dive-bomber from USS BUNKER HILL and sunk west of Arakabesang Island, Palau.
When she was lost she was loaded with 2.500 tons nickel ore and scrap iron.

She is on Palau 1995 32c sg 854.
