Built as a cruise vessel under yard No 637 by Jos L. Meyer Werft, Papenburg, Germany for Blue Sapphire Marine, Monrovia, Liberia. Managed by Celebrity Cruises Inc. Miami, USA.
02 October 1995 launched. (floated out of building dock)
26 October 1995 named CENTURY.
Tonnage 70.606 grt, 7.260 dwt, dim. 248.52 x 32.20 x 7.70m. (draught)
Powered by four MAN B&W diesel engines, paired in a unique father-son mode of operation, the two nine cylinder “father” engines each produce 8.775 kW, whilst the two six cylinder “son” engines each produces 5.850 kW. , maximum speed 23.4 knots, service speed 19.4 knots.
Accommodation for 1.778 passengers.
02 November 1995 first trials.
30 November 1995 delivered to owners. Homeport Monrovia. Building cost US$ 320 million.

06 December 1995 maiden voyage from Southampton to New York thereafter used for cruises to the Caribbean.
12 November 2002 registered in the Bahamas, with homeport Nassau.

April 2006 modernised and refitted with more cabins with balconies by Fincantieri, Palermo, Italy.

25 February 2008 renamed by owners in CELEBRITY CENTURY., under Malta registry and flag.
IMO No. 9072446.
