One of RAWSON'S tasks was to carry the inspection teams in charge of checking that all ships arriving from overseas were cleared before visiting Buenos Aires or other ports, or sailing through the Parana and Uruguay rivers. Apart from her inspection duties, she was also used by local pilots to board arriving vessels. She was registered by the Prefecture Naval Argentina, and her pennant number was GC41.
This service which the RAWSON was used for came to an end many years ago, due to newer systems being introduced to communicate between the ships and the port authorities.
