Australia issued in 2008 a stamp set with “Heavy Haulers” one of these stamps shows us the BERGE STAHL, who visited Australia once.

Built as an ore carrier under yard No 416 by Hyundai Heavy Industries Co., Ltd., Ulsan, South Korea for Partrederiet Bergensen GOIC Da, Stavanger, Norway (NIS).
15 March 1986 launched under the name BERGE STAHL.
Tonnage 175.720 grt., 61.796 net, 364.767 dwt., dim.342.08 x 65.53 x 30.2m., draught 23.03 meter, length bpp. 328 meter.
Powered by one Hyundai B&W oil engine, 24.858 hp, one propeller, speed 13.5 knots.
Daily consumption 70 tons of heavy fuel.
She has 10 holds, which has a capacity to carry 355.000 tons of iron ore.
1986 completed. Registered in Stavanger, Norway.

She is the largest bulk carrier in the world, and special built for a 25 year charter to carry iron ore from Terminal Maritimo de Ponta de Madeira, Brazil to Europoort near Rotterdam, the only two ports she can enter fully loaded. Even in these two ports she can only berth fully loaded by high tides.
Mostly making 10 roundtrips a year.
With a loading speed of 16.000 tons an hour she can be loaded within 24 hours.

For her 20 year survey she made a one-off voyage with iron ore to China where she arrived 07 September 2006 partly loaded at Majishan Port, China.
After discharging she was drydocked at Haizhou Shipyard.
T recoat her 10 holds she needed 112.000 litres of paint.
After completing dry-docking she sailed in ballast to Dampier, Australia to load 183.384 tons of iron ore, before she headed to Saldanha Bay to top up with an other 146.000 ton for her final leg to Europoort.

Update:

The owner, Berge Bulk, announced that the thirty-year-old vessel performed her last voyage to Rotterdam in the autumn of 2016. She was then headed for dry dock, where she was refitted before commencing a new contract transporting iron ore from the Port of Tubarão in Brazil to Sohar, Oman.

April 2021 sold to Gaia Shipping Ltd. Lib., Mumbai, India, her voyage to the breaker in Gadani Beach, Pakistan was under the flag of Comores and renamed GEOSTAHL.
Arrived at Gadani in July 2021 where she was beached.
