Russian destroyer built 1941. 2040 tons L833.5ft Dr 13ft. Two sets of geared Tosi steam turbines 37 knots. Arm 4 x 5.1 2 x 3in AA and five other guns. Eight DC throwers. Two triple 21in torpedo tubes. Convoy protection patrol 1943. Fire support vessel 1944. SG5271

The Russian destroyer depict on this stamp is given in source as GREMJASCHTSCHIJ, GREMYASHCHY, GREMYASCHIY, GREMYASCHI or GREMIASHI. The design of this class was produced with Italian assistance. 23 July 1936 keel laid down under yard No 515 on the Zhdanova yard, Leningrad for the Soviet Navy. 12 August 1937 launched under the name GREMYASNCHY one of the Gnevny class. Displacement 1.885 ton standard, 2.405 ton full load. Dim. 112.86 x 10.2 x 4.1m. (draught). Powered by two sets Tosi geared steam turbines 56.000 shp, twin screws, speed 38.5 knots. Range 2.565 mile by a speed of 19.5 knots. Armament 4 - 130mm, 2 - 76mm, 3 - 37mm, 4 - 12.7mm M.G. and 6 - 533mm torpedo tubes. Carried also 48 mines and 30 depth charges. Crew 236. 28 August 1938 commissioned.

First a unit of the Baltic Fleet. 1941 Transferred to the Russian Northern Fleet. Took part in the last leg (Eastern escort) of the following Murmansk convoy's protection as escort: PQ 12, PQ 13, PQ 18. QP 6, QP 8, QP 9, QP 13, JW 56A and JW 58.Also used for support of land operations. 03 April 1956 decommissioned. September 1955 till September 1957 participated in nuclear tests. 01 March 1958 stricken and scrapped.
