FREDERIK VIII, built in 1913 by Vulcan at Stettin, for Det Forenede Dampskibs-Selskab (United Steamship Company) for their Scandinavian American Line. Made her maiden voyage from Copenhagen via Oslo to New York, February, 1914. Gross tonnage 11,850 tons; net 7,555 tons. Her length was 523'5"; breadth 62'3"; draught 31'8"; depth 38'3". She had triple expansion engines of 1702 nominal horse power, and was in service until 1935, when she was withdrawn. Two years later she was broken up in England. (Denmark, 1976, 100 ore plus 20 ore; SG620).
