Owners Rotterdam Lloyd. Gt 17,000 Length 574ft overall. Twin screw motor vessel. Speed 18 knots. Built in 1929 by Maats Fijenoord, Rotterdam for Rotterdansche Lloyd. L 551ft B73’4” D 41’6”. Sulzer Freres Oil engines. Two stroke C.SA. Captured by Germans when they invaded Holland who fitted her out as a hospital ship with the name STRASSBURG. Struck a floating mine in 1943 and was beached in a sinking condition. Destroyed by British torpedo boats to prevent salvage by the Germans.
