Dasher HMS
Built Chatham Dockyard 1837 (not 1827 as on stamp) for Channel Is mail service. Second of the name in RN. Launched Dec1837. 357tn L120’ B22’. Two 50hp engines. Wooden vessel. Carried mail between Weymouth and the islands for several years. Engaged in surveying south coast of England. Served in Crimea. At Naval Review Spithead 1856. Returned to Channel Is 1860 as fishery prot vessel stationed at Jersey. Replaced by HMS MISLETOE 1844. Sold 1885. Guernsey SG68 (LB 2/69 SB 2/72)
