The Oceanic name is very popular with shipowners for there are no less than five ships of the name in Lloyd's Register. The ship on the stamp is making her second philatelic appearance having previously been featured on the 5c. stamp of the Bahamas issued in 1967. She was built in 1965 for Home Lines Inc. and flies the Panamanian flag.. Gross tonnage is 27,644; 15,034 net; deadweight. 11,850 tons.
