This ship on the 1972 Christmas Island Stamp is the 150 tons British brig Guyon captain E G Gardiner master and not HMS Gordon. The Guyon was en route to Singapore from Swan River (Western Australia) when it stopped at Christmas Island in April 1864. A report of its landing was published in the Strait Times (Singapore) on 21 May 1864 in the form of a letter to the editor.

GUYON is the correct name and she was not a Royal Navy vessel but a brig rigged merchant vessel of 150 tons.
She was underway from the Swan River, Australia to Singapore when she made a stop off Christmas Island in 1864.
Arrived Singapore 15 May 1864, and sailed again from Singapore on 21 June bound for Fremantle, Australia.

Have tried to find more info and details on the GUYON but without success.
