Launched 14th June 1980, at a cost of £13,038,489, for Barclays mercantile Ind Finance under Harrison Line management. A steel motor container ship she was the final container ship delivered to Harrison Line.
She was chartered to CGM and after a six week delay due to a seamens strike, she sailed on her maiden voyage in the SAGUMEX service from Europe to the Gulf of Mexico.
July 1981 she completed her CGM charter and was then chartered to Ben Line and renamed BENARMIN.
Jan 1982 completed charter and reverted to AUTHOR. In june 1982 she replaced ASTRONOMER in the CAROL consortium.
23rd June 1986 her draught was increased to give deadweight tonnage of 27,631.
April 1986 she was held hostage at Port au Prince by rebellious port workers for four days.
11th may 1993 sailed from Liverpool to Puerto Rico. This was the final sailing of a Harrison Line vessel from Liverpool.
1995 sold to Ambassador Shipping, Cayman Islands and time chartered to Harrison Line to trade under her old name in the Caribbean service.
1999 renamed SCLINFANTA and later renamed SAFMARINE INFANTA and again renamed MSC CORSICA in 2002.
