ALEKO KONSTANTINOV

Built as a cargo vessel by G.Dimitrov Shipyard, Varna for Navigation Maritime Bulgare
Launched under the name ALEXKO KONSTANTINOV, she was named after the Bulgarian writer Alexko Konstantinov (1863-1897), two sisterships the PEYO IAVOROV and GEO MILEV.
Tonnage 12.174 gross, 5.818 net, 14.313 dwt, dim. 158.9 x 22.8 x 9.0m.
One 6-cyl Bryansk/B&W engine, 13.100 bhp., one shaft, speed 14 knots.
Five holds, loading/discharging gear seven 12 tons cranes.
Could carry 330 TEU’s, 268 in holds and 62 on deck.
1985 Completed.

During her career she was refitted in a full container vessel, a photo on http://www.wellandcanal.ca/salties/a/al ... atinov.htm gives her without any loading gear, and her mast has been removed. Refitted in 1993 from cargo vessel to container ship.

2009 http://www.equasis.org : Owned and managed by Navibulgar, Varna, IMO No 8404886. Call sign LZKA.
Under Bulgarian flag.

26 April 2010 arrived at Alang, India for scrapping.
