The stamp is designed after part of a painting made by Adam Silo, nothing is known about the ships depicted, but the painting is made after the “Fleet Manoeuvres performed in the Zuiderzee (now IJselmeer) for Tsar Peter I of Russia when he visited Amsterdam during 1698/1699.
