OCEANO ATLANTICO reefer

Built as a reefer- fish carrier by Kanda Zosensho K.K., Kure, Japan for Cubapesca, Cuba.
1974 She was launched under the name OCEAN REEFER. (most probably not ordered by Cubapesca.)
Before delivery renamed OCEANO ATLANTICO.
Tonnage 10.273 gross, 5.999 net, 10.843 dwt., dim. 163.0 x 22.6 x 9.0m.
One six cylinder Hitachi/B&W engine, 15.5000 bhp, speed 20 knots.
Four hold, four five-ton derricks for loading and discharging.

Used in the reefer trade from Cuba around the world.
2001 Sold by Naviera Frigorifica Maritime (FRIMAR), Cuba to Pesqueria Atlantica S.A. Belize and renamed MELBA.
2002 Sold to Diamond Bay, Las Palmas, Canary Islands and renamed DENEB REEFER registered at Panama, Call sign HOBB and managed by Antar Nico at Las Palmas. IMO No. 7351836.
2005 Sold to Indian breakers and demolition commenced at Alang on 04 June 2005.
Most probably her last voyage to the breakers she made under the name BEN.

Cuba 1978 30c sg2492, scott?
