Built under yard no 1012 as a general cargo vessel by Mitsubishi Heavy Industry at Kobe, Japan for the China Merchant Steam Navigation Co., Taipei, Taiwan.
09 April 1970 keel laid down.
04 July 1970 launched under the name HAI MOU.
Tonnage 10.958 gross, 6.648 net, 12.504 dwt. Dim. 526.10 x 75.7 x 42.4 ft., between pp 492.0ft., draught 30.11ft.
Powered by one Mitsubishi Heavy Industries diesel 13.800 hp., speed 20 knots, single screw.
Can carry 733 20ft containers.
October 1970 completed.


1973 Sold to Yangming Marine Transport Co., Keelung, Taiwan, renamed HO MING.
1977 renamed by owners in MING HOPE.
1979 She was lengthened and converted in a container ship, length 613 ft. between pp 579 ft, gross 14.366, 7.663 net, 14.393 dwt.
1990 Sold to Cia Nav. Eliana SA at Panama, renamed MSC ELIANA.
2006 same name, same owners, managed by MSC Ship Management Hong Kong Ltd.
IMO No. 7025877
28 March 2009 arrived at Alang, India for breaking up, beached 10 April 2009.
