SPIRIT OF GUERNSEY lifeboat

Built as a Severn class self-righting lifeboat by Green Marine Ltd., Lymington, Hampshire for the RNLI in London.
1995 Completed under the name SPIRIT OF GUERNSEY, ON 12-03
Weight 39.96 tons, dim. 17 x 5.5 x 1.38m. (draught).
Powered by two Caterpillar 3412 TA diesel engines, 1.250 hp., twin propellers, speed 25 knots.
Fuel capacity 5.500 litre.
Range 250 mile.
Crew 6/7.
Hull of fibre reinforced composite. Her propellers are protected so she can go aground without damaging her propellers. She can stay afloat when two of its five compartments are flooded.
1997 She arrived at St Peter Port, Guernsey.

At the moment there are 46 Severn class lifeboats in service.
There was over 1£ million raised by the people of Guernsey
The class carried a Y class inflatable boat, which can be launched by an on-board crane for use in shallow waters.
2024 In service.
