GALEB

Post by aukepalmhof » Sun Dec 13, 2009 7:23 pm

The passenger vessel depict on the stamp issued in 2009 by Macedonia is the GALEB which plies on Lake Ohrid a lake on the border between Macedonia and Albania http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lake_Ohrid

I could not find much more as given on the http://www.brodgaleb.com.mk/en/index.htm

She is used during the tourist season daily on the lake, managed by Amac SP J.S.C Ohrid at Ohrid, Macedonia.
Dim. 27 x 5.5m.
Powered by two 6-cyl. Perkins Sabre M215C diesel engines, speed 27 km. maximum.
Can carry 150 passengers.

Not a yard found, also when and where built.
She was re-engined by the Perkins Sabre engines.
2009 In service.
More info on her is requested.

Macedonia 2009 18 sg?, scott?

The other stamp depict a bow of a ship, most probably also used on the lake but she is not identified.
