JENS KROGH

She was as a seine fisher built in 1899 by H.V. Buhls Skibsvaerft (now Danyard), Frederikshavn, Denmark for account of a Captain and two traders.
22 June 1899 launched as the JENS KROGH.
Tonnage 34.35 gross, dim. 16.80 x 5.03 x 2.20m. (draught).
Powered by a 6hp oil engine driving a fixed screw.
Ketch rigged.
Kept her fish in a fish bun in the amidships until returning to port.
Homeport Frederikshavn.

She was fishing for many years in the North Sea and the Kattegat, mostly under sail.
1912 Renamed in IDA with homeport Esbjerg, with fishing No E191 Ida.
1957 renamed in ULLA-VITA for a brief period she carried the No A241 Ulla-Vita, homeport Grenå.
1958 Homeport Saeby with No FN134.

1973 Sold to FDF Aalborg Søkreds (Aalborg Sea Scouts) and restored and rerigged, renamed JENS KROGH.
She has now a Gardner 6LXCT turbo-diesel, 170 hp.
Ketch rigged, sail area 215 square meters. Call sign OWMP.
Accommodation for 19 persons and used as school ship in the weekends from April till October, and during June, July and August for longer voyages.
