PROFESSOR MULTANOVSKIY

Built as a research vessel under yard No346 by Oy Laivateollisuus, Turky/Abo, Finland for the Russian Government.
25 May 1982 keel laid down.
Launched as the PROFESSOR MULTANOVSKIY.
Tonnage 1,753 grt, 526 net, 590 dwt., Dim. 71.06 x 12.82 x 6.45m., draught 4.5m., length bpp 64.3m.
Powered by two 6CHRNP 36/45 diesel engines, 1,560 hp, one controllable pitch propeller, speed 12 knots.
Bunker capacity 408 ton.
Two holds, total capacity 374 cubic metre.
Ice strengthened.
25 May 1983 completed. Homeport St Pietersburg.

First used as a research vessel by the Soviet Union, when the Soviet Union collapsed in 1991 she was not more needed.
Converted to a Polar Expedition ship with berths for 45 passengers in 26 cabins, and was taken on a long-term contract to Oceanwide Expeditions, at Vlissingen, Netherlands.
Crew 20.
She makes now regular expeditions tours to the water of the Antarctic and Arctic.

2011 In service as given by http://www.equasis.org owned by Arctic & Antarctic Research, St Petersburg, Russia and managed by Oceanwide Expeditions BV, Vlissingen, Netherlands. IMO No 8010362.
