LISETTE

The stamp is designed after a painting made by the pier-head painter Michele Funno (c1837-1865) from Naples around 1847, and shows us the German topsail schooner LISETTE when approaching Naples in October 1847. At that time she was under command of Captain J. Fischer. The painting is now in the Werder Collection.

She carries owners flag on foremast, her number and signal flags on the mainmast, and national flag of Preussen on spanker gaff.

She was built in 1840 in Stettin the hull was made of oak wood. Her owner given as Hemptenmacher, Stettin who owned her till 1854.
Tonnage 100 last, draught 12ft.

1843 Was she under command of Capt. Bradon
1844 till 1845 under Captain Barandon
1846 Under command of Capt. J. Fischer.
1852 Under command of Capt. J.Lars.
1854 Under command of Capt.J.G. Lars.
1855 Under command of Laars.

1854 till 1862 was she owned by J,T.Hemttenmacher, Stettin.
1856-1862 her tonnage given as 166 gross (new measurement)

1860 Is she mentioned again on a website then under command of Captain Lahrs.
Fate unknown.
