HAMBURG. Passenger. Built in 1926 by Blohm & Voss, Hamburg for the Hamburgh-Amerika Line. 22117Gt. 12109Nt. L645'6"pp. B72'4". Dr42'1". Eight B & W turbines. 2 screws. 19kn. Accommodation for 1550 passengers in 3 classes. On service Hamburg-Southampton Cherbourg-New York. She was lengthened in 1933 by 43'. She struck a floating mine near Rugen on 7 March 1945 and sank. After 4 years work the Russians raised her in 1950. She was repaired and converted into a Whale Factory ship and renamed YURIV DOLGORUKY in 1955. Broken up in 1975 - Germany 1937. 25pf+15pf.
