Lebanon issued a stamp in 1971 showing the largest vessel in the Lebanese Navy, the patrol boat Tarablous. She is only 105 tons displacement, and was built by the Ch. Navals de l'Esterel. Laid down in June, 1959 and completed that year, her dimensions are 124 ft. 7 in. x 18 ft. x 5 ft. 8 in. The main engines are two Mercedes' Benz diesels driving two shafts and developing 2,700 b.h.p. giving her a speed of 27 knots. Her radius is 1,500 miles. Complement: 19 (3 officers, 16 men). Pennant No. P13. The stamp was issued for "Army Day".
