The $1.75 value shows the tug BARBADOS II docked at the quay. It is the larger of two modern tugs that help with docking operations for the cruise liners. If you have been on a cruise that stopped in Barbados, chances are you have seen this one at work
The hull of this tug was built by the Sevmash Predpriyatiye at Severodvinsk, Russia for the Barbados Government.
After the hull was completed she was towed to the Netherlands where she was completed by the B.V. Scheepswerf Damen at Gorinchem under yard No 511707. The Dutch Damen Group was most probably also the designer of the tug.
Tonnage 313 gt, 93 net, dim 30.82 x 9.4 x 3.76m, length bpp. 28.0m.
Powered by two Caterpillar 3606 TA/MC diesel engines each 2,030 kW., speed 12.5 knots.
June 2002 completed under the name BARBADOS II.
She is managed by Barbados Port Authority and stationed in Bridgetown Port.
