SZABADSÁG ex ZSÓFIA ex KÓCSAG ex ZSÓFIA HERCEGNŐ ex ZSÓFIA FŐHERCEGNŐ
DDM ZSÓFIA FÕHERCZEGNŐ type steam powered side-wheeled passenger ship built by the Dresdener Maschinenfabrik, Uebigau, Germany, for the MFTR.
Dim. 67.0 x beam over paddle boxen 14.80 x 2.20m, length bpp. 64.0m, deck beam 8.0m, draught 1.30m.
One compound triple expansion steam engine 800 hp.
Passenger capacity of 400 persons.

1914 ZSÓFIA FÕHERCZEGNŐ, owned by MFTR. It was delivered to the Danube in parts and assembled in Deggendorf. Shortly after its commissioning, it was renamed ZSÓFIA FÕHERCZEGNŐ. Originally the MFTR luxury yacht.
1919 Renamed KÓCSAG (eagle), owned by MFTR.
1920 Renamed ZSÓFIA, owned by MFTR.
Cruise ship in Budapest since 1925.

On 02 July 1944, during a bombing raid of the Allies, when the ship was heading to the MFTR port, she sought shelter under the Buda bridgehead of the Margaret Bridge, but the bow and stern of the ship remained uncovered. A stray bomb slammed into the water next to the ship. The ship was indented at the stern, 2 main ribs and 8 cross ribs were broken, the fixtures were damaged, but no water intrusion occurred.
She was in Austria at the end of 1944 and returned home on 13 December 1946.
1947 the ZSÓFIA was transferred to SZABADSÀG MESZHART.
1949 Renamed in SZABADSÀG (freedom), MESHART
1955 Transferred to,MAHART not renamed.

Out of service in 1965, where after she was scrapped.
