The stamp shows us an image of the Hetman Dmyytro Baida Vyshnevetsky (1517-1563) in the middle of the stamp, on the left is fleet of Cossacks “chaika’s” viewtopic.php?t=17888 , with in the backgrounf Khortytsky castle. On the right is I believe Constantinople within the foreground a Turkish “kandirga” (galley) under sail.

The fortress Khortytsky Castle at the bottom of the Dnieper is a prototype of the future Sich
Despite the warnings of Sigismund II, Dmytro Vyshnevetsky in 1553 at his own expense began construction of a fortress on the island of Mala Khortytsia , where the Cossacks flocked to it; the fortress was to become an outpost in the fight against Tatar aggression. According to the results of archeological and hydro-archaeological researches of 1990-2000, Mala Khortytsia is identified with the island of Baida, located west of the island of Khortytsia.
