PHILATELIC EXHIBITIONS LUBRAPEX 80– Those responsible for Portuguese Philately and Brazilian Philately agreed in Rio de Janeiro in 1966 to carry out a LusoBrasileira Philatelic Exhibition every two years. It was also agreed that they would take place alternately in Brazilian territory and Portuguese territory. Thus, the 1st LUBRAPEX took place in the city of Rio de Janeiro in 1966, followed by LUBRAPEX-68 in Funchal, in 1980 it was in Lisbon in the halls of the National Library.

Portugal issued 1980 four stamps and a miniature sheet for this exhibition, which depicts ships types.
The 19.50E stamp shows us an early paddle steamer from the period 1840-1850 auxiliary rigged as a two-masted rigged Barquentine. This type of vessel was used by Portugal for the emigration vessel between Portugal and Brazil.
