SULINA CANAL

Post by aukepalmhof » Tue Nov 09, 2021 7:33 pm

Sulina is the shortest arm of the Danube delta which led to it being very early developed for maritime navigation, a decision taken by the European Danube Commission in 1858. It is the subject of permanent maintenance by dredging and canalization which makes it also called the Sulina canal. It is the most frequented river in the Delta by river and sea vessels. However, Sulina only carries 18% of the total water flow of the Danube.
The vessel till so far has not to be identified, it is one of the Romanian vessels which daily pass through the Sulina Canal on her way to the Black Sea.

Romania 1981 L4.80 sg 4625, Scott.
