The Type 094 (Jin Class) nuclear ballistic missile submarine was built by the Bohai Shipbuilding & Heavy Industry Co. Ltd, Huludao, China for the People’s Liberation Army Navy.
The first of this type the LONG MARCH 9 No 411 was launched on 28 July 2004 and commissioned March 2007.
Displacement: surface 8000-9000 ton, submerged 11000 tons, dim. 135 x 12.5m.
Powered: Nuclear reactor, pressurized water reactor, a turbine, one shaft, speed 26 knots or more.
Diving depth 300m.
Armament: 6 – 533mm torpedo tubes, missiles JL-2a SLBM or JL-3 SLBM x 12.
Crew 120.
Building costs $750 million per unit.
Till so far 6 have been completed and two more are planned.

The Type 094 (simplified Chinese: 09-IV型核潜艇; traditional Chinese: 09-IV型核潛艇; Chinese designation: 09-IV; NATO reporting name: Jin-class) is a class of ballistic missile submarine developed by China for the People's Liberation Army Navy Submarine Force. The Type 094 succeeds the Type 092 submarine and precedes the Type 096 submarine, which is under development.
Background
The Type 094 was first spotted in 2006 on commercial satellite imagery of the Xiaopingdao Submarine Base. It was noted as being longer than Type 092. Two Type 094s were spotted at the Bohai Shipyard in May 2007, although it was not clear if these included the one spotted in 2006.
One was operational in 2010, three in 2013, four in 2015, and possibly six in 2020.

design
Both Type 09IV and Type 09III nuclear submarines have a teardrop-shaped hull and are equipped with four horizontal rudders. In terms of appearance characteristics, the 09IV hull has a continuation relationship with the 09II hull. The size of the ballistic missile compartment in the middle of the hull is increased, and it can carry China's Julang-2 submarine-launched ballistic missile or Julang-3 submarine-launched ballistic missile. . It is estimated that the surface displacement of the boat is 8,000-9,000 tons, and the underwater displacement is 11,000 tons (another 10,000-12,000 tons). ; In addition, the introduction of Russian nuclear submarine technology and modern technology to improve noise performance. After equipping this type of boat, the sea-based nuclear strike capability of the Chinese People's Liberation Army Navy has been greatly improved, and the outdated Type 09II nuclear submarine will be eliminated.
missile
Type 09IV nuclear submarine can carry 12 Julang-2 submarine-launched ballistic missiles. This type of missile was developed by the Fourth Research Institute of China Aerospace Science and Industry Corporation. It is a three-stage solid-fuel-propelled ballistic missile. The technology of the 31 intercontinental ballistic missiles is modified, the maximum range of the missile is 7400-8000 km. The improved Type 094A strategic nuclear submarine can carry an improved JL-2A ICBM in the higher "turtleback", and the range is further increased to 10,500 kilometers (one said that 3-5 sub-warheads can reach 12,000 kilometers if a single warhead can reach 13,000-14,000 kilometer), it can also carry more advanced Julang-3 submarine-launched ballistic missiles, with a range of 16,000-18,000 kilometers.
torpedo
This type of boat is equipped with 6-533mm torpedo tubes and carries 12 Yu-3 (SET-65E) torpedoes. This type of torpedo adopts active and passive mastheads. The warhead weighs 205 kg, has a maximum range of 15 km and a speed of 40 knots. This type of boat can also carry wake homing torpedoes and wire-guided anti-submarine torpedoes.
sonar
Type 09IV nuclear submarines are equipped with advanced sonar systems, including bow sonar and H/SQC-207 broadside sonar.
