Post by aukepalmhof » Tue Feb 28, 2023 7:13 pm

Monaco issued a miniature sheet in 2022 which was designed after a painting made by Joseph Beaume, which shows us when he embarked on board the INCONSTANT in Elba on 26 February 1815. The INCONSTANT is not visible on the stamp, but only on the painting on the left.
The painting you can find in: Institution:Musée naval et napoléonien du Cap d'Antibes in Antibes

More info on the INCONSTANT is given: viewtopic.php?p=20667&hilit=INCONSTANT#p20667

The postal history of the Great Army of Napoleon I. The block issued by the Office des Timbres refers to Napoleon's departure from the Island of Elba on February 26, 1815, and his chance meeting with the hereditary prince Honoré-Gabriel, future Honoré V, when he disembarked at Golfe-Juan on March 1, 1815.
