MORGENSTER Tall ship

Thanks to Mr. Miguel Gil who identified the two other ships on the stamp Sail den Helder.

The second ship in the line is the MORGENSTER, the 3th is the Dutch warship HNLMS HOLLAND en the fourth ship the four master JUAN SEBASTIAN.only shown n the prestige booklet.

She was built as a sailing logger by Gebr. Boot at Alphen aan de Rijn for M.den Dulk in Scheveningen. Netherlands,
1919 launched as DE VROUW MARIA (Fishing No SCH 200) (the Lady Maria)
Owned by Fa. H. Den Dulk Pzn.
Tonnage 112.75 bruto , net 76.83, dim .46 x 6.69 x 2.95m
Powered in 1928 by a 8 cyl. La Meuse, 240 hp engine.
1919 completed.

1928 She received a new engine. the La Meuse.
Used in fishing in the North Sea.. mostly herring.

1940 Confiscated by the German Navy an received the no HH10.
1945 After the war returned to owners in IJmuiden,
1947 Lengthened
New tonnage 160.60 bruto, 92.98 ton net, dim. 32.53 x 6.64 x 2.92m.
1948 Her engine changed, to a 240hp Industry 4VD7, 4 cyl. No 3338
1959 Taken over by Fa.M. den Dulk Gzn NV and renamed MORGENSTER (morningstar) no SCH 324.
1959 Owners were Ed. Den Dulk & van Leeuwen NV.
1970 Owner gven as Fa.M. den Dulk Gzn.
1970 Owned by F. Vrolijk and used for sport fishing.

1980 Used as pirate radio ship Radio Del Mare.
1993 Commence to converse her in a sailing charter ship, owned by Harry Muter. Her lugger bow was cut away and replaced by a clipper bow.
Since 2008 private charter and sail training vessel based in Den Helder, Nethrelands,
Brig rigged.
Berths for 36 trainees for overnight voyages. Crew 10.
2013 Her engine was replaced by a 450 hp Scania DS13 engine.
2024 In active service, same owner and name. IMO 5241659.
