St Pierre et Miquelon issued a new stamp witch depicted the trawler JAN MARIA.
Built as a trawler under yard no 1309 by the Industrie Gebr. Boot at Alphen aan de Rijn, Netherlands for De Samenwerking at Katwijk, Netherlands.
Launched as the JAN MARIA KW-171.
Tonnage 326 grt, dim. 44.21 x 7.34m.
11 May 1963 completed. Imo no 5411917. Homeport Katwijk.
1972a Sold or chartered by Soc. De Peche et de Congelation. St Pierre et Miquelon. Not renamed.
1972b Sold to A. Van der Knaap, from Texel, renamed NEPTUNUS TX-10. Refitted in a beam trawler.
1973 She was renamed BENJAMIN JAN.
1977 is remediated and put under Danish flag under the name MARLENE SOFIE VE-244, still owned by Dutch owners.
1987 Sold to Alieftiki NE Salamina, Piraeus, Greek, renamed PANAGIA MALEVI.
1997 Sold to undisclosed owners, not renamed
2025 Still in service as a fishing vessel under Cameroon flag same name, and given by Marine traffic that she is in the Gulf of Guinea.
(she was the third fishing vessel named as JAN MARIA, and the name is still used by the company for a modern factory ship, which is sailing under German flag.)
