The vessel in the foreground of the £1.25 stamp depict on the 2008 “60th Anniversary of Tristan Fisheries “ is the life fish carrier MELODIE.

Built as a cargo vessel under yard No. 153 by Globe Engineering Works, Cape Town for?
Launched under the name MELODIE.
Tonnage 303 grt, dim. ?
Powered by?
Completed in 1971.

As given by equassis in 2008, she is now owned by Sea Fern Fishing, Cape Town.
IMO No. 7039050.

The fishing vessel in the background on the stamp is the KELSO.

More info on both vessels is welcome.

One 8-cyl. Klockner-Humbolt-Deutz Oil 4SA engine, 930 bhp., speed 10.25 knots.
