Built as a passenger vessel under yard No 6087 by Fincantieri, Sestri Onnente, Genoa, Italy for Costa Crociere SPA., Genoa.
28 December 2000 building contract was signed.
03 December 2001 keel laying ceremony.
14 November 2003 floated out under the name COSTA MAGICA.
Tonnage 102.587 grt, 9.859dwt., dim. 229.92 x 35.5 x 14.18m., length bpp230m, draught 8.20m.
Powered by 2 Sulzer diesel engines, 40.000 kW., twin fixed pitch propellers, speed 20 knots.
Accommodation maximum 3470 passengers and 1090 crew.
26 October 2004 delivered. Homeport Genoa.

04 November 2004 she sailed from Genoa for Barcelona and on 5 November she was presented to European travel agents there.
06 November 2004 the vessel was christened by the Spanish actress Paz Vegas.
07 November she set sail for a short cruise with travel agents and invited guests to Savona and Marseilles.

Thereafter she will make cruises in the Mediterranean from Italy.

27 February 1998 keel laid down.
11 November 1999, floated out under the name COSTA ATLANTICA.
Tonnage 85.619 grt., 53.437 net, 7.500 dwt., dim. 292.6 x32.20 x13.6m., length bpp 260.6m, draught 7.80m.
Powered by two Wärtsilä 9R46 diesel engines 35.200kW., twin Azimut electric propulsion drive, speed 22 knots.
Accommodation for 2680 passengers, crew 920.
15 May 2000 till 20 May trials,
30 June 2000 delivered to owners. Homeport Genoa. Building cost USA$350 million.

04 July 2000 arrived at Venice.
15 June she was visited by travel agents and the media and the vessel was christened by the Italian actress Claudia Cardinale.
16 July 2000 she sailed on her maiden voyage from Venice for the first of her weekly cruises to the Eastern Mediterranean.
Mostly she is based in the summer in the Mediterranean, and during the winter months in the Caribbean.
