TEMPEST tug

Built as an anchor handling/tug under yard No 908 by Scheepswerf van der Giessen-De Noord, Alblasserdam, Netherlands for Bureau Wijsmuller, Ijmuiden.
22 October 1976 launched as the TEMPEST.
Tonnage 1,199 grt, 61 net, 1.165 dwt., dim. 47.81 x 13.9 x 7.01m. Draught 6.4m, length bpp. 42.02m.
Powered by two 6-cyl. Stork-Werkspoor diesels, 8,500 bhp, twin shafts, speed 16 knots.
Bunker capacity 832m³.
Bollard pull 120 tons.
Crew 13. Accommodation for total of 20 persons.
March 1977 completed. Under Dutch flag and registry.

After delivery managed by Wijsmuller Salvage B.V.
1988 Under Vanuatu flag and registry with homeport Port Vila.
1991 To Smitwijs Towage CV, a joint venture between Wijsmuller Holding and Smit Internationale at Rotterdam.
1999 renamed in SMITWIJS TEMPEST.
30 November 2005 Sold to International Transport Contractors B.V.(ITC), Heemstede, Netherlands and renamed again in TEMPEST.
2010 In service, same name and owner, IMO No 7515377, under Dutch flag and registry with homeport Amsterdam. Tonnage now given as 1,368 grt, 410 net, 1.195 dwt. Owner given as Tempest International BV, Heemstede, and managed by ITC management BV, Heemstede.

Norway 1985 2k + 1k sgMS960, scott? (she is the forward tug most left of the stamp.)
