T.s.s. POLYS is a tanker, which was built as BEAUGENCY for Societe Maritime des Petroles B.P. at Dunkirk (France) by Ch. Nay. de La Ciotat at La Ciotat (France) in 1973. Her dimensions are 334.12m x 48.75m x 20.34m (draught) x 26.19m (depth). Her gt is 118.461; 86,078 net and 239,064 dwt. Her speed is 15.5 knots. She has 2 steam turbines (Stal Laval) of 32,400 shp and 1 propeller. In 1982 she was sold to Navy First Compania Naviera S.A. a Limassol (Cyprus) and renamed in present name.

1982 Sold to Navy First Company Naviera S.A., Limassol and renamed POLYS.
09 December 1985 hit by an Iraqi missile forward, when she was on the shuttle run from Kharg Island to Sirri Island in the Persian Gulf, loaded with crude oil. The missile hit an empty tank, the POLYS was only slightly damaged. At that time she was about 65 miles south of Kharg Island. She was repaired at Dubai.
1986 After her repair renamed by owners in POLIKON.
24 February 1986 she came under attack of an Iraqi helicopter gunship near Kharg Island on a ballast voyage from Sirri Island to Kharg Island. She sustained engine damage and had to be towed back to Sirri Island, then she was again towed to Dubai for repairs.
28 July 1986 Struck by an Iraqi Exocet missile on a ballast voyage to Kharg Island on the “shuttle service”. The missile hit No 1 port tank causing a four feet hole, and setting her on fire, the fire was extinguished by the crew, then the POLIKON headed southwards. But due to again engine problems she had to be towed to Bahrain for repairs.
05 April 1987 at 06.43 hours G.M.T. she was struck by an Iraqi Exocet missile in a position 28 22N 50 56E during a ballast voyage from Larak Island to Kharg Island on the “shuttle service”.
A serious fire gutted her engine room and accommodation after the Exocet missile pierced a bulkhead and bunker tanks. There were no crew casualties and they were taken off by salvage tugs.
The damage was so great that she was declared a war constructive total loss by Bimeh Iran her insurers.
She was towed back to Larak Island.
1990 She was sold by the Iranian insurance underwriters to Naess Maritime Overseas Ltd, it is reported for eventual scrapping.
1991 Was renamed in MICKY and was towed to Gadani Beach where she arrived on 22 December 1991 for demolition.
