She is a freighter built by Empressa Nacional 'BAZAN' at La Carraca for empressa Nacional ‘ELGANO' de la Marina Mercante at Cadiz (Spain) in 1955. Length 354ft 4in. Beam 48ft l0in, draught 20ft 71/2ins/24ft 7in. Gross tonnage 3,843. Net 2479. deadweight 4880. A new main engine of 2320bhp. 5‑cyl. was installed in 1967. I am unable to find out what has become of her. LRS No. was 5261788.

Built as a cargo vessel under yard No 21.
Launched 31 May 1954.
Original a 4-cyl triple expansion steam engine, manufactured by Harland & Wolff Ltd., Belfast, hp?, speed 14 knots.
May 1955 completed.

Her fate was when she was in ballast underway from Valencia to West Africa in order to load a cargo of logs when she was severely damaged by fire that started in the engine room in a position of 80 miles north of Las Palmas, Canary Islands on 05 July 1973.
15 Men crew and the master were rescued by the Spanish motor trawler CIGALA, while the other 14 were picked up by the British steam tanker MYSIA.
Still on fire she was towed to Las Palmas by the Spanish fire-fighting salvage tug TAMARAN two days later.
The damage by the fire was so large that she was declared a constructive total loss.
1974 Sold to M. Garcia shipbreakers at Puerto de Santa Maria, near Cadiz, she was towed to the scrap-yard where she arrived on 07 August 1974.
