SAVEIRO: Used in the north east of Brazil mainly in the Bahia and Sergipe states. And applies to several varieties of flat-floored square sterned boats used for fishing, transporting of cargo and passengers.
The fishing saveiro was open, while the cargo saveiro employs high rails set well inboard to restrain the cargo when during sailing the vessel heeled over.
The cargo saveiro as seen on the stamp set a single lateen sail, or are powered by oil engines.
