STEFAN SZECHENYI paddle steamer 1853.

Built as a paddle steamer under yard No 70 on the yard of the First Danube Steamship Company at Althoven, Obuda, Budapest for the DDSG.
Launched as the STEFAN SZECHENYI.
Displacement 280 tons, Dim. 60.96 (b.p.p.) x 7.92 (over paddles 14.83m.) x 2.84m., draught 1.22m.
Powered by G & J Rennie, London built steam engine 665 hp.
1853 completed.
Mostly used on the River Danube.
1866 New steam engine fitted in, from Escher Wyss & Co. of 665 hp.
In 1866 when Sultan Abdil Aziz visited Paris) and London (he was the first sultan which visited this places) he and his suite travelled for a part of the journey on board of the STEFAN SZECHENYI.
27 April 1876 collided with the Romanian ship SOREL in the lower section of the River Danube, in which she was damaged, repaired on the DDSG, Obuda yard.
Renamed in SZECHENYI.
1877 She came in collision with a towing barge on the lower Danube, again repaired on the DDSG, Obuda yard.
1909 Underwent a full modernisation on the DDSG, Obuda yard.
1925 Out of service, most probably scrapped.
