British Virgin Islands issued a set of stamps in 2011 for the 40th Anniversary BVI Spring Regatta
35c) The 80s stamp highlights the addition of the bareboat fleet to the regatta and the fact that the charter industry put Tortola on the map during that decade.
50c) The yacht in the foreground of this stamp with the mark in the sail of IVB 14 is the PIPEDREAM owned by Peter Haycraft of the British Virgin Islands, a Serena 38 yacht. (38 feet yacht)
Peter Haycraft was one of the regatta’s founders and a 40 year BVI Spring Regatta racing veteran.
Have not, and could not find any information or details on the PIPEDREAM otherwise than race results, so all info on builder, dimensions are welcome
$2) The 70s are remembered with a photo of the original boathouse that was used as the BVI Yacht Club house in 1972.
