SAN GUGLIEMO
Steam ship built and launched by D & W Henderson 29 March 1911 for the Sicula Oceanica Societa di Navigazione, one of the lasit Italian emigrant ships to be built in Britain prior to the First World War
Length 490ft breadth moulded 56ft, depth moulded 35.3ft. Two sets of triple expansion engines cylinders of 25. 41 and 58 in. diameter with a 48in stroke. 2 screw. Steam at 200psi supplied by six coal fired S.E. boilers. Shelter deck type hull, the 74ft forecastle and 54ft poop were joined by an unbroken deck, open beneath. She carried 2.000 passengers in three classes. She was torpedoed and sunk 8 January 1918 in the Gulf of Genoa.
