You are correct she was the wrong vessel, below is given the details and history of the ship.
She was built as 4th Rate by Joseph Nye & George Moore at East Cowes for the Royal Navy.
24 December 1695 ordered.
24 November 1698 launched as HMS JERSEY (III)
Tonnage 676 ton, dim. 40.3 x 10.4 x 4.2m.
Armament: 54 guns.
Crew 230.
1701 Commissioned under command of Captain Robert Staleton.
First in service in the English Channel off Dunkirk.
1702 Set sail for New York, returned back to the U.K. in 1703.
1705 She was in service in the North Sea.
1706 She set sail for the West Indies.
17 July 1711 in auction off Cartagena, Columbia.
August 1715 until March 1716 under repair at Plymouth.
1717 Recommissioned and a unit of Bing’s Fleet for the Baltic.
1721 – 1722 guard ship at Plymouth.
August 1731 hulked at Plymouth.
02 March 1763 on Admiralty orders to be broken up, but instead deliberately sunk at Plymouth on 27 May 1763.
